A simple program for helping to tune a guitar in standard tuning, this download boasts few of the advanced features offered by some rivals. Once loaded, the program displays the head of a guitar; clicking on a string plays the appropriate note through the computer's speakers or headphones. Users simply do their best to match this on their guitar. Unlike some rival programs, users cannot plug their guitar directly into the sound card and let the software guide the tuning process that way. The interface is somewhat clumsy, with some information about the strings' names hidden if the window is stretched. This kind of tool is actually quite common in tablature editors and chord generators. However, for guitar players who want some free assistance in tuning up, this could well be a useful download.
