Though this application can easily cut oversized files into smaller bits and quickly reassemble them, some limitations mar its usefulness. TinySOF DataFileJoinCutter's simple but cleanly designed interface has two major buttons for switching the program from File Cutter mode to File Jointer. It's a simple three-step process to split files. Although only one preset size (1.44MB) is offered, the program has two flexible options for entering a custom size or selecting the number of output files you want to create. Split files are automatically saved to the directory of the source file, and (though it's a minor oversight) we would have preferred the option to select a destination. TinySOF DataFileJoinCutter's biggest flaw is that it can't create a self-uniting batch file, so if you share or send split files, recipients will need to have a working copy of the program to join them. Also disappointing is the application's stingy 20-use trial. Though this program works decently, other freeware applications have a bit more flexibility, and users should have no problem finding a less expensive way to split large files and share them with others.
