Check and compare files in two paths byte by byte.

The program reads all the files in the source path and its subdirectories and then compares them (byte by byte) with the files in the destination path. The program will then report the missing files in the destination path and report files with differences. Different comparing options, such as 'compare by file time' and 'do fast comparing' are also available. Originally TestPath was designed to check the files you write/burn on a new CD-R(RW) or DVD+/-R(RW), but it can be used to check files on any two devices and paths, for example after creating manual backup of files. You can be sure that all files that you wrote to the CD disk are there and without write errors. TestPath is FREE for Personal Use and SHAREWARE for Corporate Use. Please read the license. There are no differences or limitation between two versions except the license.

Works as advertised. Small. Simple. Free. No adware, etc.

It does what it is designed to do. I don't see any cons.
Summary
Have been using the program since version 1.2 cam out several years ago. This is one of those simple, small utilities which fits a specific task. Simple program which can prevent bad CD's. When you create a CD do you know it was written correctly? This does various comparisons, byte by byte if you want. Yes, it can be slow in the most advanced checking. I have been using it to verify Data DVD's.

Pros
Simple, straight-forward, will insure against CD-Writing disasters. The ultimate nightmare in burning CDs is to put the new CD into another machine and discover it didn't write properly. This program will test that for you before you leave the "source" machine so you can write the CD again if needed. I've never had a CD with any problems that passed this program's test. Wonderful insurance.
