FotoCat is a photo catalog software, designed for photo file management. FotoCat provides standard file catalog functionalities and enhancements for image files. Extract/store photo file thumbnail, extract/store JPEG file EXIF information, export thumbnail photo and EXIF information to HTML file. The program offers search facility as well. Version 1.2 features MP3/WMA tag support, improved volume adding dialog and improved thumbnail display pane.

Worthy if you need it, but basic as of yet.

Pros
* Extremely easy to figure out. A child could do it. <p> * Neat search capability. You can add descriptions to each file, or all files in a folder, or just the folder. <p> * No spyware, no spam, no 'bulking' with extra, unneeded features, or ads.
Cons
* You can't just open the file. You can view a thumbnail.. but that's it. Full viewing requires you to find the file on the hard drive. <p> * If you have a huge collection of pictures, like I do (I shant mention of what), then be prepared to wait - while it indexes them, you cannot cancel. One directory took five minutes. * Very basic layout. Almost *too* basic. Not very pretty. I'd call this a very nice beta - not a full product, yet. <p> <p> A similar product to this that is free would be Picasa 2. Suggest checking it out. Quite nice, but it has it's own drawbacks.
