Summary
While reading some security tips online, I came to know about TechGenie Free Antivirus program. As CNET is the prime source of free software, I checked it there. After reading a positive review, I wanted to give a shot to TechGenie Antivirus and download & installed it. This newly launched antivirus software is good in scanning and quarantine infected files. The good part is that I can view product videos and know about its features and benefits. For testing, I also installed the antivirus program in my friend's computer and was able to connect to his computer remotely. This feature attracted me the most. Though the free version comes up with less number of features I would rate it as above average.
A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT AND A BIG WASTE OF MY TIME!

It seemed to remove many old & unnecessary files from my pc (but interestingly enough, I ran the scan 3 consecutive times and each time it found more old junk files to remove!)
Cons
CON #1: I DIDN'T HAVE ANY ANTIVIRUS PROTECTION INSTALLED ON MY PC AFTER THE DOWNLOAD & INSTALLATION. CON #2: Customer Support then told me that if I wanted to speak with Technical Support about my problem, there would be a charge.
Summary
I received an email message offering me 1 year of free (Silver Status) TechGenie Antivirus protection and computer maintenance & support... in order to clean out old files and speed up my pc. I used the registration number that was provided in the email message, downloaded and installed the software. It seemed to remove many unnecessary files from my pc. Initially it appeared to be working "like a charm," removing many old and unnecessary files. However, when I attempted to find my Antivirus software, I soon realized that I didn't have any!! I immediately called Customer Support and explained that I didn't have any antivirus protection, but I was told that if I wanted to speak with Technical Support about my problem, there would be a charge. I should also mention that after installing the software and running a scan to find and remove old files... and once I realized that I didn't have any antivirus protection whatsoever, after removing my McAfee software... I was unable to find the original email message that offered me the one-year free trial. It disappeared. I ended up removing the entire program and re-installing my ("tried & true") McAfee Total Protection.

I got this link when I was searching for free antivirus software for my Windows PC. I was not sure if it was legit or fake. I never heard and never saw this program before, but the good thing is they promises to secure your PC for 1year for free. I asked to my friend and he also recommended me to download it. Finally I clicked on Download now button and installed it. Now I am scanning my computer and wow it detected many virus and infected files. :D I think this is quite good.
