• system rescue cd has saved me so many times

  Pros

  Resizing partitions Lost passwords Data recovery Reinstalling Grub (boot loaders) Fix up hard drives Backup (fsarchiver) Virus scan boots fast, to the terminal works on every machine I throw at it. Install onto a USB stick

  Cons

  Can not think of any.

  Summary

  The best rescue distro I've used and I've been using for a good 5 years now.

  Pros

  I'm afraid I have absolutely nothing positive to say about this so called rescue CD.

  Cons

  Extremely large even if it did do what it says it will do. I had many problems downloading file. I could not do it wireless period. Excellent signal, modern, fast equipment, it still glitched out every time. Hardwired had problems too-but of course only after 200+ mb into download. Finally got it by dedicating it, apparently it wanted my computer all to itself. I tried it on an old compac with a corrupted mbr, an easy fix without even needing a rescue disk. It didn't work! It wouldn't boot the computer. Some simple rescue programs that come with sys. utilities can do simple rescues. I got rid of it, then bound and determined, I tried it again--same, didn't work.

  Summary

  I wasted a lot of time and a couple of blank disks and got nothing but some hair pulling frustration. Don't bother with this gigantic file.
