• WAS Fantastic

  Pros

  Synced Documents and Outlook between all my computers. With Business Edition you could also sync documents or specific Outlook folders with other users. Nothing else could sync Outlook in real time without using Exchange. Worked unattended. Perpetual Licence. All my clients loved this solution. Affiliate program gave discounts or commissions.

  Cons

  In the last year (2011-2012) it started becoming problematic, requiring restarts, slow to log on. Customer service was practically nonexistent. Hard to get a refund for users for whom it did not work i.e.: Database driven software data. They announce they were discontinuing the service in mid-2013.

  Summary

  This was my secret weapon. Where others would say it was impossible to simply sync Outlook between all their computers I would set them up with this great product. In the summer of 2012 they announce they would discontinue the service around summer 2013 due to strong competition of Cloud services. But none of these other solutions can sync Outlook. Poor advertisement and marketing failed to create a strong user base, resulting in too little revenues to keep the company afloat. In their last email announcing the end of the service, they gave a link to another company that would give a significant discount to existing users for a similar product. Trying to get in touch with this new company resulted in an email redacted in German. Goodbye Syncing.net, we miss you already.

• Great start, but getting more disappointed by the day

  Pros

  Syncs Outlook items with few errors.

  Cons

  Increasingly sluggish; often requires reboot to get computers communicating; constantly having conflict issues -- even when only one computer is running; no support (website reverts to German); all computers have to be on to update.

  Summary

  This software did exactly what I wanted when I could not find anything else: It synced my Outlook items between 3 computers, without requiring me to get Exchange. But over time it has become more and more difficult to work with for reasons listed.

  Pros

  Updates outlook e-mails, calendar, and more instantly without any trouble. It even keeps important files synced between computers. Great for backing up your inportant files

  It is a bit slow when backing up larger files and the program is pretty expensive

  WOn't unistall earlier version that is non-functional and can't install update. Tech support unable to resolve

  Installed an earlier version in 2006 that I could never get to work. Thought I would give it another go with version 2 but it won't install saying 'an earlier version is installed'. All attempts to uninstall fail - even a programme from their tech support failed. See if you can decipher what this advice means! SYNCING.NET adds an information to the registry related to the 30 days trial period. This information has been removed with the tool I've attached to the previous e-mail. I've had another look into the communication of August 2008. There I've found that I've already reproduced this message on Vista, when trying to update SYNCING.NET. I wrote: ...during the installation process of SYNCING.NET Vista asks whether the uninstallation program may be started (this is a message box which may ask to allow a program to run; for detailed information you may need to click on 'details'). If you don't accept this message you'll get the error message reported. So, if you try to install SYNCING.NET via a tool which supresses this message, you may get the error without the chance to allow the uninstaller to run...

• Excellent Synchronization of Outlook and Files

  Pros

  From Outlook items to documents, there is no better way to keep computers in sync. Easy to set up multiple "networks" for both Outlook and file folders. Once set up, it works in the background. Computers do not have to be online together.

  Cons

  A separate license is required for each computer, so it can be expensive if you want to involve several computers. It does not allow synchronization of files on network drives.

  Summary

  This is an easy-to-use synchronization program that does double duty by allowing Outlook synchronization and file synchronization in one program. Its file caching allows delayed synchronization of computers that are not online at the time time. Its inability to synchronize network files and its one-license-per-PC rule cause it to loose a star in my rating.

• Fast easy sync

  Pros

  Used it for a couple of days it it is extremely fast, efficient, just plain WORKS.

  Cons

  Small niggle is that the first sync takes (understandably) a fair amount of time. Since I had over 6000 contacts, it was pretty reasonable.

  Summary

  So far, the best sync I've tried, and I've tried several.

  Pros

  It provides a simples user interface and a fast and easy Synchronization. I've set it up on all my computers and now I have all my data anywhere! And the best thing... I don't need to use a server to have them!

  Could have a better tech support!

• Spectacular - email relief on my two PCs

  Pros

  It installed easily and immediately went to work syncing Outlook folders with thousands of items each between my two PCs. Calendar, Contacts and lots of email folders. Wonderful
