  It's hard to install unless you know how:<p>click tools > folder options... > view<p>make sure hide extensions for known types is not checked.<p>rename the downloaded file to sudokumat.java.<p>Wala!

  Pros

  Has excellent features including the ability to select a row/column/box, select all of one number, and many other features that allow both the beginner and the seasoned veteran to enjoy many hours of Soduku enjoyment.

  Sometimes difficult to read the prompts initially because it was developed in German (can be switched easily to English).

  I was ok - not the best version of Sudoku, but ok - especially for the price.

  Needs to have better directions to make the downloaded file playable. Just look at how many people had a hard time getting it to run - If there are that many people who can't figure it out, then it is something the author needs to address.<p>For those having the same problem - Here is the answer by: rock_solid on 06-Jul-2007 11:25:49 PM<p>Once the file is downloaded, then go to folder options and disable the "hide extensions" option. Then the file should be "sudokumat.jar.txt". Edit the file name and remove the ".txt" extension so it becomes a ".jar" file (which is a java file). Then just run it

  It's the first freeware game I've seen that isn't all full of ads or in any way crippled!

  It's written in Java, which means there IS NO EXE FILE, much to the dismay of other reviewers. Simply remove the ".txt" from the downloaded file, so you have "sudokumat.jar" and then run this with Java. You MUST have Java installed before you can run this, but if it's installed correctly, you should be able to double click this .jar file and it will run.<p>Java can be obtained from Sun's website if you need it; it's free.<p>And please, people, giving a piece of software a bad review because you couldn't run it...that's absurd. It's more of an issue with the way download.com is distributing it and not giving any helpful documentation of how to get it going.
