• A great language software

  Pros

  Allows user to export customizable mp3s to make use of "lost" time. You have save phrase, save sentence, save paragraph, save all audio up to this point and then you can also program it to repeat and pause on each phrase or sentence. Amazing.

  Cons

  It would be cool to have an option to turn on/off an English translation of the text. After getting acquainted with a certain paragraph on the first pass, the beginner learner can come back to read with the translation turned off. More books perhaps?

  Summary

  I've searched the web for software like this and as I've mentioned, with a couple of additions stated above, it would make this a great software. The learner can just choose to export one paragraph a day and blast those phrases into his brain while working even. The great thing about this software is that it allows you to set the number of times the phrases or sentences are repeated. If you find your attention drifting or couldn't manage to catch the words on the first pass, you can still listen to the second pass, or third, or fourth; all without having to stop to rewind. I would be absolutely thrilled if the author designs another software that allows the user to input a particular text or newspaper article that he wishes to train himself on and use a text-to-speech component to export to mp3s. There are technical issues of course because this sort of software is actual pretty expensive and free ones usually uses poor quality reading agents. Perhaps the author can also provide a custom "book creation" service whereby the customer provides or specifies the literature he wants.
