This application works well as a reminder for users to take scheduled breaks from computer work, but we find it lacking a critical component. Stress Buster installs two launch icons: one for customizing user preferences and the other for initiating the program. It offers three types of breaks--short pauses, and short and long breaks--that you can modify to fit your needs. You can easily customize the time intervals and break duration. Although we think the Snooze and Ignore features aren't really necessary, some users might find them useful. We appreciate the Lock PC option that prevents users from working during break times. While effectively enforcing much needed breaks, Stress Buster--unlike similar programs in the market--doesn't offer demonstrations of stretching exercises. Despite such an omission, users looking to prevent or recover from Repetitive Strain Injuries might find the application worthwhile.

Stress Buster is ergonomic software, or break reminder software, designed to prevent Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) and other computer related health problems such as carpel tunnel syndrome, tenosynovitis and tendinitis often referred to as 'upper limb disorders'. It can also aid in the recovery from such conditions. It runs quietly in the background, monitoring your activity and reminding you to take regular breaks. Three levels of break are provided: short pauses, and short and long breaks. Each user can tailor break intervals and break times to suit their personal preferences. The program monitors your activity and only advises breaks when they are necessary. Breaks can be snoozed or ignored - or these features can be disabled.
