The SQL Server Search Tool is an innovative and easy to use product. Need to know where is data set, table or variable is used in your SQL Server project? It's easy with this tool - just enter the server name, database name and select Windows Authentication or enter a valid User Name / Password. Enter a string to be searched and search tables, views, stored procedures or triggers. Results pop into the top, right box. Select a result and the actual code or table structure appears in the larger bottom box. SQL Server. Search Tool was written as a stand alone executible application. Works with any version of SQL Server 2003 through SQL Server 2008 R2 including SQL Express versions. May work with other released versions but has not been tested yet.

I've been looking for something like this for a long time. It's invaluable for tracking relationships in larger SQL Server projects. You just enter the SQL Server name, database name, login informtion then paste or type in the key phrase you are looking for. In less than seconds the software returns a list of every view or stored procedure the key phrase is used in and then you can open up the view or stored procedure with just one more mouse click! This is something that belongs in SQL Server! Who knows, maybe Microsoft is reading this. I can only hope.... Tom

The are asking for a $5.00 donation, but the software is fully functional without the donation. But maybe that's not a Con after all? I've paid $50.00 for software that does less!
