Establish spam-filtering services for your mail server.

SpamFilter is used by ISPs and companies running their SMTP servers. It is designed to be a proxy to your incoming SMTP server receiving all e-mails addressed to your domain. If the sender's IP is not blacklisted in DNS-MAPS based black lists then the e-mail is forwarded to your SMTP server. Our new SFBD (SpamFilter Distributed Database) is a huge database of spammer's IPs updated in realtime by all SpamFilter installations in the world. Anytime a company running SpamFilter ISP blocks an email, the sender's IP address is sent to our centralized SFDB database. This allows the SFDB filter to have access to a huge repository of spammer's IPs, updated in real-time by all the SpamFilter ISP installations in the world. Our database analyzes this data in realtime, and will block IPs that have sent excessive amounts of spam to multiple locations in the world in the spam of the previous few minutes. This allows the SFDB to be extremely accurate, effective, and to start blacklisting IPs within minutes of them sending spam. Our propietary SFDC (SpamFilter Distributed Content) filter is the latest filtering technology developed by LogSat Software. When SpamFilter ISP receives an email, it will analyze the email's contents and will calculate a 20-byte hash to characterize it. We developed technology that is able to detect similar emails based on their contents. SpamFilter will assign the same hash to similar emails. When SpamFilter detects that emails with the same hash signature are originating from several different locations, it will report such anomaly to our centralized servers. Our database analyzes, in real-time, this incoming flow of messages, and, based on their quantity, origin and destinations, is able to detect what signature hashes are generated by spam emails. The technology behind the SFDC allows our centralized database to detect spam signatures regardless of the email's text and contents, but rather base it on the patterns used by spammers to deliver their emails. A new filter to scan inside embedded images is also included. Statistical Bayesian DNA fingerprinting, along with dozens of blacklist/white rules are also be applied to filter spam. Examples are country filters, SPF and SURBL filters, remote DNS validation tests. An optional antivirus plug-in is available. End users have Web access to their quarantined e-mails. They can view, delete, and force delivery of their own quarantined e-mail without having to ask the system administrators.

Most Ridiculous Tool Ever

There are none. This program is utterly useless

Summary
At most this isn't a tool you should be using. If you want to stop spam from hitting on your SMTP or internet, then hardcode your own system that blocks it. A program that's $600 for something that you can code yourself is utterly ridiculous. These days Botnets are doing things for us. This tool is manual. You'd have to babysit it in order for it to work. This program could be easily cracked anyway.

Set and Forget. It handles hundreds of hits per second without any issue. We can set custom filters for each domain, to be as agressive or passive as we want.
Cons
No ability to look at your outbound emails to automatically generate a whiteList of email address's that you send to.
Summary
I looked at a huge range of products and could not find anything that gave me the flexibility and control without coughing up a fortune. By far the best business grade AntiSpam solution.

Accurate, simple to use, it places all files in a single directory, no registry entries - didn't think they made similar programs anymore!
Cons
Too bad we didn't see this last year, as we threw a $4,000/yr subscription service for another antispam application down the drain!

Pros
Very easy to install and configure. It reduced our spam to virtually none with very little false positives. Compared to our previous product it requires almost no maintenance and care.

I cannot think of any major downsides.

Great price and excellent customer service. We had asked for a modification in the activity logfile format so we could perform better reporting with our in-house queries. LogSat had that done for us in a week. Try asking the same question to Symantec!

Very efficient (resource-wise), completely configurable, easy to use, great customer support. Extremely robust and reliable - even works when things like an Enterprise Database is not available - Amazing!
Cons
I don't have a customer calling me every day with Spam problems! :)
Summary
This product is incredible and has allowed our organization to focus on our mission - not mail problems. We have been using it for a year and I recommend to fellow colleagues who support mail - especially those who don't have time to support mail!

Pros
It's able to process our email traffic with an almost imperceptible CPU usage...! Finally a product that doesn't place files all over the place - this has everything in its own directory, and upgrades require only to replace the .exe file :-)
Cons
The administration web interface is still in beta and not super user-friendly, but we honestly prefer to use "real" GUIs in heneral to configure applications, so this is not a big problem.

Inexpensive, very accurate, support is great - bug fixes in hours, not months, ask for a new feature and sometimes they will implement it within weeks... try having this with a bigger company!
