SpaceEye sets live satellite images as your desktop wallpaper. If you're an astronomy buff, this free app gives you constantly updating views of Earth. It's like having a window to space without the spacesuit.

  • Pros

    • Simple, straightforward, and easy to use | Provides up-to-date satellite imagery at regular intervals | Offers 12 different viewpoints of the Earth | It's free, so you can't really complain too much

  • Cons

    • Can't set a custom resolution; images might not fit your screen | You can't download the images, which is a bummer | System tray icon is a little clunky, TBH
