It doesn't support any other format, but this dependable and effective file-compression tool archives files into a ZIP file. SimpleZip has a simple, easy-to-use interface with buttons for its main functions. In our tests, it allowed drag-and-drop functionality for easily adding, opening, and extracting files. It created archives of the same file size compared to WinZip, although they're slightly larger compared to other file-compression utilities. In addition to only offering one compression format, SimpleZip doesn't integrate with Explorer's context menu or provide password protection for compressed files. Nonetheless, this freeware is still worth a try for both novice and advanced users as a no-cost tool for saving disk space or making files more manageable for sending.

Installs a second program wth no mention that a xecond program will also be intallled that called EasySplit.
Summary
Potenetially hamful program is also installed. EasySplit is also installed complete with a PUP Dialer EZZ, AVG found it on first use.
Simple, Fast, Effective

Pros
1) Love how fast it works and how easy it is to use. 2) You can create the filename for the zip file you are about to create and then add all the files and folders to it you want...basically a "project" view. 3) When you extract, it does NOT automatically extract to the current folder, which is great--you won't accidentally overwrite files with the same name! Instead, you choose the folder. 4) FREE with NO ADS!
Cons
1) Would LOVE to see it support other formats, such as .tar and .iso (currently only supports .zip). 2) Not completely intuitive (for some functions, you click a button, then make choices; for others, you make selections, then click a button)...but there are only a few operations you can perform, and there are 3 tutorials. They're short and clear.
