Live traffic maps widget for California & Arizona.

The SigAlert Traffic Maps widget allows you to get the latest traffic maps for your local freeway traffic. After selecting the region to be displayed on the back of the widget, the front will display up-to-date information for the selected region (the speeds and incident reports will be updated when the Dashboard is first displayed and can be manually refreshed by moving the mouse over any route on the widget or by clicking the reload icon in the top right corner of the widget). Map Controls - The widget can be resized (from the bottom right of the widget's front) and allows panning and zooming of the map so that you can focus on the data you are interested in (settings will be stored for each instance of the widget - you can have multiple widgets showing different maps open at the same time). Use the map controls in the top left corner to pan and zoom the map, click on the "i" just below the zoom controls to flip to the back of the widget to change the currently displayed region.- Pointing the mouse over any route or incident icon will display a popup with additional details - pointing the map over a camera icon will display a live traffic camera picture from that location. The popup will automatically close after a few seconds.

Great widget, but doesn't have all cities from Sigalert

From the cities shown, it looks like a great widget to have to check traffic before you leave for work.
Cons
Doesn't have all of the metro areas covered by Sigalert.
Summary
This widget doesn't have all of the maps for cities covered by Sigalert, such as Des Moines, IA.

I installed this version, upgrading from an older version. I kept it and it disappeared from the screen. I reinstalled the older version and it works fine. My os is 10.4.11

I've been using an older version of this for quite a while now, this new version adds to the functionality. The new look is easy to understand, it's much easier to focus on a particular area of interest. Nice widget.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />This really is a wonderful widget. Very useful and should be the model for all other widgets as far as functionality goes. One request, however. Could you make the rollover delay longer? Sometimes there's an accident with lots of information and the info window doesn't stay open long enough to absorb all the information. Other than that request, this widget needs nothing.

Very nice job on the suggestions I have made. If only larger companies responded so well. The speed is much faster than even the website is, Very nice App.<b><b> Now, on to the fine tuning...<b><b> Start-up of the widget is kindof on the slow side, sometimes it takes 20 seconds or more on my Cable Internet connection.<b> The text on the pop ups is a little hard to read sometimes. I wish I could customize it so I could use different font sizes. Also, the popups, is the positioning random or does it depend on where you roll over a dot? It would be nice if I could choose the position of the popup.

On a side note: Am I the only one who is commenting on this widget? WAY better than 1.0 The only thing I wish would be available is the incident reports. I would love to see them on the side or a pop up that has all the detailed information, I don't want to leave the widget to see all the information. Keep up the great work!

Good try but needs work. Should be faster, and provide the same experience as the website. I guess that's where they want us anyway, so we see the Ads.
