SharePoints is an application or a preference pane that makes it easy to add and delete share points like in the old Finder. In Mac OS X, by default, you are limited to sharing only what is in your public folder in your home directory. This program makes it easy to share any folder. In addition, SharePoints also brings back users and groups management to Mac OS X as well as easy configuration of AppleFileServer (AFS) and Samba (SMB) Server properties.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I needed to share a directory (with Windows sharing) on a second hard drive on my Mac. OS X doesn't let you do this. SharePoints solved the problem. I experienced no problems. Slick software. Works through control panel, too. I agree Apple should incorporate this into OS X.

It's the right tool for home or small networks, but it's not suitable for Windows-Domains, etc. In this case your preferred tool should be BBEdit ;-)
