ShSSL File Transfer is the software to provide safer file transfer access to shared SSL server users.

ShSSL File Transfer has 2 parts to implement a secure file transfer access between your internet server and Macintosh.

This softwara has 2 parts to realize secure file transfer, 1 is server side program which implemented with Python CGI and a client side software works on McOSX.

A server side program is Python script which connects your FTP server with ftplib.

A client side program is MacOSX program works on your Mac.Each program communicate on HTTPS protocol provided from your shared SSL server. Then Web seerver working behind shared SSL server accepts a CGI call and transfer it to your FTP server.As far as your shared SSL server and FTP server resides in same LAN, (most web hosting company's servers are configured like this) your plain text FTP connection won't go through the unknown networks. So, your security risk will decrease.
