SecureRDP is a security add-on for Windows Terminal Services, that allows administrators to block non-authorized users before they can even see the logon screen. The program offers several internal filters, including IP addresses, MAC addresses, Computer Names, Client Versions and more. In addition, you can also set time periods in which the Terminal Server may be accessed (e.g during regular business hours) and specify session limits per user.

Version 3.2 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

SecureRDP - great if it works in your situation

Pros
X2 now offers this as freeware! unauthorized users never reach an account login screen, makes brute force login very difficult. Works with servers AND the limited RDP servers in some Windows desktop versions.
Cons
may have to change RDP server characteristics to fit SecureRDP filter limitations, especially if the server is not in the same IP subnet (e.g.; across Internet). help file is for older version and incomplete. NO support is available from X2, period.
Summary
My use is with Win XP Pro SP3. If you are familiar with Windows desktop RDP services, and willing to experiment a little, this tool can greatly increase the security against unauthorized logins. But understand that this is only one additional layer, and several other layers are recommended (e.g.; strong passwords, changing the listening port from the default).

It is effective for me to keep no-welcome guest out of my domain. Only use MS user logon authentification those guests? not enough!
