Secure Virtual Desktop (SVD) is a desktop isolation solution that creates a secure session in which all data created on the machine is cleared upon exit. All files generated, accessed or modified are put in a secluded layer, ensuring that no existing data on the computer is touched during the session. Inside the tool, you are able to use many existing applications on your computer (see the list of compatible applications), access data currently on the machine, and switch between the secure and regular environments. When Secure Virtual Desktop launches, a new environment is launched onto your screen which mimics your current system. You will be able to easily see which environment you are in by the desktop background shown in Secure Virtual Desktop, as well as by the floating toolbar showing your status. Inside this new, secure desktop, write access is disabled to the outside environment of the host machine. This means that all files downloaded, created, modified or accessed during the session won't be visible outside of the environment, and will all be cleared upon exiting the program to leave no trace of your activity. Additionally, copying and pasting between the environments is disabled to ensure no data is accidentally transferred.
