Screen capture tool: scale, email, change format.

ScreenShot Plus uses Apple's tool to do the capturing, but allows you to scale the capture and select a format, jpeg, tiff, psd, and more!

ScreenShot Plus is activated by pressing Shift-Apple-2, You will then have the option of selecting a region on screen, toggle to window select mode by pressing the space-bar. A window will appear showing the captured area. From here you can scale the image and select a format to save in or attach to an email. ScreenShot Plus uses Apple's Quartz for smoother scaling.

Unregistered copies will save images with a watermark.

I hate seeing pop-ups every single time I log in, or restart my computer. Please tell me, cause if it goes away, I will register... if not, I will not register. Otherwise, this is a very handy little app. Why on earth Apple decided to go with PDF for screen shots is beyond me. -Ryan

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />There's nothing worse than letting a user try your software and then sticking the company's URL in the image or the word DEMO. THis one does the former, and it really is a total turnoff. Yes, $5 isn't a lot, but why not simply let the user try it for 15-30 days and then shut it off? That annoyance cost a sale for me, because I was looking for something that did this. As for its functionality, it's a bit dialog heavy for just getting simple screen shot without any way to set preferences for things like file format options and target destinations. Other than that it's worth the five bucks, and certainly doesn't need the nag watermark for such a low-priced item.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Since OS-X has been rewritten so that screenshots are only saved in PDF (so that Tinker Tool no longer allows you to choose your format), a gadget like this is extremely handy. It works as advertised, and the price is very reasonable. I hope that in a future version the author will be able to add the option of saving as GIF format, but at the moment I understand that the license fee for GIF is prohibitively expensive.
