This free tool acts as a password manager, keeping all of your log-in information in one spot. Unfortunately, it took a trip to the Help menu to figure out how to get started.
Before you begin, you have to enter a master password to access the program. From there, it was a little confusing on what we were supposed to do next. Luckily, a quick visit to the Help menu got us rolling. The user interface is plain to look at, but you'll find buttons for adding and editing passwords. The options menu lets you adjust the transparency of the interface window, run the program at start-up, and set the auto-lock function. We were able to add a site, a user name, and the related password. All of our information was saved, but it wasn't listed alpha-numerically as the program promised. All of our sites were openly displayed. SafeKey does include a password generator, which works great. The same could be said for the auto-lock feature, which automatically locked the program after our set time of 10 seconds.
If you're looking for a basic password manager, this program works. We had to manually uninstall the program, but it didn't leave any traces on our PC.
