SafeIT File Encryption for Windows

The program supports drag and drop, or you can use the basic browser to locate items for encryption or decryption. After either process radio buttons make it easy to shred, delete, or leave the original files alone. The process is easy to follow with encrypted files easily identified with the addition of "EN" to the file name. However, testers noted they would have preferred an option to set the output directory.

Users who want to share encrypted files will appreciate the ability to create password-protected, self-extracting encrypted files. Security-minded users will like the option to choose from four encryption algorithms, including Blowfish and Rijndael. An easy-to-read log file displays details of all operations.

There's a tab for a File Shredder, but it requires a separate download and doesn't come installed with SafeIT File Encryption.
