I compared to SANS recomendations and these guys are right on
big10rules- Pros
- The installation was a breeze, Within a few minutes I was reviewing the scan results, After I entered the software key SWAT walked me right through the lock down process. I have been an avid user of firewall and antivirus, thinking I was secure. But with these products in use my score was still a 3. that is before I locked it down with SWAT.
- Cons
- Endorsement?
- Summary
Not worth it
onefinelover69- Pros
- On the upside, the installer worked. As well as the unistaller, when I decided it was a waste of money.
- Cons
- The specific problems with this product include the buggy user interface design, and the perception that this product has the capability to perform "proactive" security. The specific settings the product implements should be disclosed to the user so they are not "duped" into false advertising.

If you are looking for a quick fix for proactive mitigation of Windows vulnerabilities, it's a better idea to go with a solution from a company with a proven reputation.

In addition, this product is overpriced.

In my case, I went with Qwik-Fix Pro Home Edition, and I am not affiliated with PivX in any way whatsoever.

- Summary
- I didn't have any problems. The scan showed some holes I didn't know I had open. My score went from a four to an eight. I had a question about passwords and got fast, friendly help from the tech support team. The post before seems rather bitter - must be having a tough day. The last time I checked, MBSA focus was more of a patch scanner and doesn't offer all the features that this tool does. Besides who wants to spend their day reading knowledge base articles when the reporting feature of SWAT is much better. The only negative that I can come up with is that some of the areas could be more in depth.
