  There are no pros that I know of, could not access information after 2 days

  Quit working after 2 days I could not access any of the RSS feeds at all

  Summary

  A quick search reveals that there have been several known issues for many years which make this program unstable. If they ever get around to addressing them this would be one of the best RSS readers.

  Pros

  It at least allows you to read RSS feeds.

  Cons

  1. The whole app freezes when you try to open a webpage. 2. It consumes WAY too much RAM when runnning (approx 200MB) 3. Can't view all feeds at a go if they're marked as read.

  Summary

  It's true that .NET applications tend to be memory hogs but this is way too extreme. An RSS reader is supposed to be at the very least, lightweight. The author also has to look at loading web pages in the background, say, on a thread or background worker because an application that freezes each time you want to open a different page is totally out of the way.

  Doesn't do what it says on the tin.

  Summary

  Despite what it says, it won't run on Windows 2000. To be more precise, it requires dotNet Framework 3.5 which will not install on Win2K

  Keeps feeds well organized.

  Cons

  Loads SLOWLY, preloaded feeds need cleaning out

  Summary

  The slow loading time is no doubt due to the use of the .NET runtimes. But it takes forever to start compared to FeedDemon. Also, I could do without the preloaded feeds. I suppose some might need that but seems like anyone looking for a feed reader already has some feeds to read. Otherwise, they aren't likely to know that they need it.

• Good - but not much

  Pros

  I'm looking for a new reader to replace Feedreader 3.12, which uses a lot of memory (90-130 MB on a 1GB ThinkPad T41). The interface is good, and the included browser works good too.

  Cons

  Memory consumption is basically the same as Feedreader, peaking at 176MB sometimes. News folders' count of unread items is sometimes confusing. all in all, couldn't find a reason to switch from my current reader.

  1. Ease of use.<p>2. Very intuitive to me. Sort of work in a logical manner.<p>3. Layout of screen is good and moves back and forth into browsing and next feed with ease.

  N/A at this stage. Will continue to try out other RSS readers . I am relatively new at the RSS game.

  Completely flexible on whether I auto download any feeds (for all and each feed) <p>Easy Categorization (multiple layers) <p>Flexible on whether and how it informs me of new feeds (for all and each feed) <p>Allows for network storage of feeds <p>Feeds are stored as the native file, not in a locked database, so I can get at the feeds (in this case mp3's) from anywhere in my network using my mp3 player, I don't need to re-open Bandit. <p>Doesn't take up space on task bar when minimized. <p>FREE!!!!!

  It seemed to be a good GUI and have some neat functions, however I never used them, see Cons.

  Many things I did not like. <p> <p>1) No EULA (end user liscence agreement). Why not? Something is fishy here. On a side note on this, this was a featured download, and right beneath was an article on keeping your computer safe, stating that you shouldnt install software without an EULA. <p> <p>2) As soon as I started RSSBandit, Spyware Terminator's realtime proctection popped up with a high threat level. <p> <p>3) Firewall popped up, and my firewall is set pretty liberal, I almost never have to allow a program to access the internet, so when it asks, I question. <p> <p>So no EULA, and two unusal flags popping up. No thank you. Add one and at least I will feel better about installing.
