News Ticker Toolbar for Windows

While a few customization options would have been nice, this free Internet Explorer toolbar brings news from a number of categories right to your desktop.

The News Ticker Toolbar interface is slim, but still has a lot of wasted space. It can't be customized and you won't find the typical toolbar features like an e-mail alert icon or weather display. You can quickly pick a news category from a drop-down list, and the ticker immediately changes to the selected news type. Although the news ticker itself was easy to read, the option to widen the view space would have been a nice addition. Other than that minor flaw, this simple news ticker worked perfectly.

It's free and simple enough for anyone to use. If you want the news and nothing but the news, this basic ticker toolbar fits the bill.
