Fast download, no bundled software, very easy to use and works great. Uninstalls programs that didnt complete, lost power during install, or have issues with newer os's. Very straight-forward interface, and protection from mistakes because it makes a backup of the registry AND makes a restore point. Scans for leftover files and registry entries/values and lets you delete them one by one or all at once. 5/5

Pros
Does a better than average job of uninstalling programs when compared with the program's own uninstaller. It will often delete files and registry entries that the program's uninstaller would leave behind.
Cons
The free edition (and I don't know about the paid version) does not list a number of the programs that I have installed, so you can't use Revo to get rid of them. I've heard it's because they are 64-bit programs, and I've head that it's because they make no changes to the registry. Whatever, you have to use the Windows Add/Remove, or the program's own uninstaller. Also, don't think that Revo gets rid of all the files and registry entries on all programs. It does not! Especially with more complex programs like Windows Mail and Java, it leaves a trash head behind in your registry.

did the kind of deep system cleaning that I needed on a older machine. program found stuff that I had long ago forgotten that I had "tried" also got rid of the remnants of old virus/spyware programs that were not removed by the software company's own tools. I could not wait to buy this software.

Will get program listings out of Windows 7 Uninstall or Change a Program.

Will wreck your computer. After using the latest iteration of this program (Revo Uninstaller Pro 3.0.8) I am unable to uninstall any previous Windows Update. The list of programs is gone. I am unable to install any Important Windows Update. I am unable to reinstall the software I had used Revo to remove. This program does not remove the temp files that come with an installation, leaving potentially Gigs of garbage on the computer. This program does not work with any installation that requires a reboot, which still accounts for much of the software out there. They do not tell you this up front. Therefore, the fact that CNet recommends this is a disgrace. Revo paid for this service.

My take on this program is it is garbage-ware. It is poorly programed and does more harm than good. I've used uninstallers over the last 20 years, and some worked perfectly. Many did not, and Revo is one of those. There is not one professional tech sight out there that recommends this program. Unfortunately, I forgot that the CNet of yore is long gone, replaced by an organization that essentially sells advertising. You will get a decent review if you pay. Gone are the hard core testers that put a program through the paces. Revo is one of the many East European companies that learned from the old Microsoft model. Program it so it barely works. Give it away for free and charge if you can. Testing is minimal and real debugging will occur as the customers call in and complain. To remain above reproach, give a quick refund rather then have an angrier customer out in the world. Advertise the hell out of the product...After my OS installation was damaged I decided to look up the product on the blogs designed for techs. They do not come up first, thanks to Google and all the other advert based engines. Once on the tech blogs and forums, I did not find too much complimentary reporting on Revo Uninstaller. I found many buyer beware reviews, not for newbies, and the simple stay away warning. I am a developer, with numerous certifications. I will be able to fix my machine without a call to Microsoft. I will forever not trust Revo, CNet or any other group that earns its revenue from reviewing software.
