Editors’ Review
This application lets you easily calculate the nutritional value of a large variety of foods and recipes, though it isn't as impressive as some we've come across.
Recipe Calc's commonplace UI displays the nutritional facts for food items or an entire recipe on a nutrition label similar to that found on package labels. You'll see the selected food's calories, total fats, cholesterol, sodium, total carbohydrates, protein, and dietary fiber. We like that the program can print, e-mail, and export recipes into HTML files. Fortunately, Recipe Calc features a nutritional database with several foods and their nutritional values stored. You can add other foods and recipes to the database, but you're on your own in determining the food's nutritional values. This application doesn't launch your browser and insert the info for you. It also lacks a calendar for diet or menu-planning options.
Simplistic in nature, this 20-day trial makes designing healthier meals easier, but in a category so rich with options, Recipe Calc doesn't stand out.
