• Simply the most confortable reader for a computer screen.

  Pros

  This software is so good, it is the only windows program I have installed in my Linux powered laptop. It runs flawlessly under Wine. It was made to read plain .txt files, .html or even .doc if you have word installed. Just open the file, or paste something from the clipboard, switch to fullscreen, lower your monitor brightness and hit space for a smooth autoscroll. It's much better than those other readers that try to simulate paper printed books. I've been using ReadAssistant for a few years already, and I even used it to read the my entire copy of the Lord of the Rings series. It also supports zip-compressed files. Perfect for the Gutemberg Project.

  Cons

  It's been a long time since its last upgrade, so It does feel like an windows 3.x program. The interface a bit confusing in the begining and could be better organized. But after you adjust your setings and switch to fullscreen, you don't even miss it. It coould support other filetypes like plucker or pdb. Lacks a project Gutemberg filebrowser.

  Can't see any pros with this program.

  First of all it's antique. It looks like a Windows 3.xx program. Second, it's totally useless... why use this program to read e-books that's self-executable ?? Besides, when I tried to open some e-books I had... all this program showed was a list of #**".;."#Â?%&&Â?&W... that's right unreadable signs. Don't even try it, you will delete it after 1 minute anyway.
