QuikRentals for Windows

If you're a landlord or property manager, especially if you have more than one property, we don't have to tell you how hard it can be to keep up with everything. Have your tenants paid their rent? Have you paid your mortgage? Do repairs need to be made? Is your insurance up-to-date? QuikRentals is an Access-based program that aims make it easier to keep track of all this and more. Unfortunately, the program's unintuitive interface makes it a bit of a challenge to use.

Because QuikRentals is Access-based, it has the familiar ribbon-style layout of other Microsoft Office programs. A toolbar labeled Add-Ins contains tools for adding owners, properties, managers, contractors, and assets and depreciations. The rest of the interface has a somewhat confusing layout, though, with several tabbed panes displaying mortgage transactions, tenant information, property issues, and more. The way the program is organized doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and though the built-in Help file supplied some guidance, we never did feel fully comfortable using the program. Even trying to figure out how to record a rent payment from a tenant was an ordeal. We think it's definitely a good idea to have a program to help you manage your properties and all the record-keeping that goes along with them, but we're not sure that QuikRentals is the best choice for the job. It works, but the time you spend trying to figure it out could be better spent elsewhere.
