Convert the newer Quicken Bank Data import format (QFX) to the older Quicken Bank Data format (QIF).
This is a simple tool (no installation required) to convert the newer Quicken Bank Data import format (QFX) to the older Quicken Bank Data format (QIF). Anyone that uses an older version of Quicken (and possibly other financial software) may need this tool to convert downloaded data from their bank. This program works without a user interface. Simply extract to a folder on your machine, and associate QFX files to automaticall launch with this program. Then any time you double click a QFX file a converted QIF file will be added to the same directory. To associate QFX files with this program: 1) Right click a QFX file and select 'Open With' and then 'Choose Default Program' (If 'Open WIth' is not an option, choose 'Open') 2) Select browse, and select this program (QFXtoQIF.exe) from the location you extracted the zip file. 3) Make sure the check box for 'Always use the selected program...' is selected, and select 'OK'. Now everytime you double click a QFX file on your computer, a QIF file will be added to the same directory.
Once associated with the QFX file, all you have to do is double click the file and you have a QIF formatted file to use. No user interface needed.
Cons
Only con is that some may have difficulty in understanding how to associate the program to the QFX files.
Summary
Ignore the poster calling this a scam. This software doesn't do anything but read the file, reformat it, and write the file back to the same folder. It has no algoritm in it to access the internet or do anything else. You can see this by running a network monitor while running the program, and you can see that NO data is sent or received by the program.
