Every now and then, a Net user wants extra privacy online, or to use a piece of software that's being blocked by a firewall. Proxifier helps with both of these tasks. In our tests, we successfully used a mail client behind a firewall that had Port 110--the conduit for the mail program's data -closed. The program also can unblock other applications, such as a browser, a P2P client, an FTP utility, or instant-messenging software. It can hide a Net user's IP address while she's surfing, and operate through a chain of SOCKS proxy servers for added privacy. The software also provides a good tool for monitoring bandwidth usage and network connections. Though it should be simple to configure for advanced users, it may be daunting to users who aren't familiar with the idea of proxy IP addresses and port numbers. It doesn't provide an automatically updated list of proxy servers to use on the Net, a feature we would expect in a program that costs this much. Nor can it automatically switch among proxies to find the fastest one available. Overall, Proxifier can be a valuable privacy tool, but it's not user-friendly enough to be recommended for most mainstream computer users.

Best Software if you work with Proxies

Best Software. It apply proxy settings to all the Client software at only one click. we does not need to add proxy to all software again and again while with use different network at home and office We can jump from different proxy path for different website, port and application. Let say one website is blocked in your area, you can run that particular link from different path

No significant cons is there. If there is a feature that it can automatically change the proxy setting if we connect from one network to another then it will be great

Btw "l require that your internal and external addresses match." you need use another program to do it, like super network tunnel can support real dns resolver mode, just like a real vpn, get it from http://www.networktunnel.net

If you can figure out how to set it up (not that hard), then it allows you to make nearly any program work through a university or corporate firewall.<p>It also allows you to specify which programs you would like it to proxify and which it should leave alone. This is great when using things like browsers which can usually make it through a proxy server on their own.<p>This program has changed my life

I have come across one or two programs that don't work, these all require that your internal and external addresses match. This is kind of impossible when using a proxy server.

Proxifier allows network applications that do not support working through proxy servers to operate through a SOCKS or HTTPS proxy and chains. Features include work with any Internet client through a proxy, improve network performance or ensure privacy, easy yet powerful UI with live data, and up to date with new technologies.

Other features include proxifier can process all outgoing TCP connections, full IPv6 support, tunnel IPv4 connections through IPv6 proxy and vice versa, SOCKS 4 and SOCKS 4A (hostnames support) with User ID authentication, HTTPS with Basic and NTLM authentication, proxy failure is transparent for the client application if redundancy is enabled, selected proxies in the chain can be enabled or disabled, convenient UI that allows chain creation and reordering with drag-and-drop, system DNS and DNS over proxy modes, automatic DNS mode detection, and proxification rules can be based on application names, IP addresses, hostnames, and port numbers.
