• Please Don't use Propel

  Pros

  2 week trial and sometimes it actually works, which is Rare.

  Cons

  Propel site states no charge for 2 week trial, beware , as I canceled after 7 Days and then was charged anyway. I have been unable to my $9.95 back after 4 calls to customer service, it goes to voice mail. Then 10 Emails to support, I received an email stating they couldn't find my account with my username. Then the manager of support, stated he can't give my money back as they don't refund money after the trial ended. In all 10 previous emails, I stated that I cancelled after 7 days. The computer should have shown that, also. So, Buyer beware.

  It doesn't Work, and it misses up your browser, it sucks.

  Thet don't say anything about a username or password until you download it. If the trial is useless, take it off the site.

  none, other than it downloaded fast.

  Cons

  messed up my browswer, ie8 running on xp pro, 2.8 celeron x2, 1 gb memory. ie is now funky, displays pages wrong, menu dialogs dont work, even tho i un-installed the program, gonna have to reformat.....

  Cannot trial the product without giving credit card details first. I did not feel comfortable with this idea and I dropped the whole thing right there.

  - Installed cleanly and without any spyware. - From other online reviews, does do the job that it says it does. - Uninstalled cleanly too.

  - Is really a 7 day trial!! - According to the site requires you to provide them with your credit card details up front before even starting the free trial -When I did user sign up was unable to receive confirmation e-mail making the product useless

  In terms of reputation from what I have found on the net it is supposed to be pretty good. However coupled with lying on Cnet about having a 14 day free trial and requiring credit card details up front makes it all seem dubious. I was not happy with it and it did not make registration easy when I didn't receive an e-mail for validation of a new sign up. Thus making the product absolutely unequivocally useless.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on May 18, 2009<p/>I retract my previous post as I have just received an e-mail from them (bout an hour late) confirming my user data. Also no credit card information was required and also it does say 14 day trial. However I advise them if they read this to update their site and knowledge base to follow suit.

  No idea I was never able to try it!

  Cons

  It had me uninstall my slipstream web accelerator for nothing!

  You can't use it unless you have a password, but they don't tell you that until you install it and uninstall your current accelerator. I had slipstream. So now I have nothing. If you ever use slipstream be careful, slipstream disconnects at reviews, etc. and makes you lose information(you will need to disable it). I will be trying localnet.com soon and I think they have propel for 3.00 a month. I have 207me.com but I am diconnected every 15-20 min., I am not happy. I can't get DSL where I live even if I could afford it. I have read propel is very good and slipstream is almost as good although slipstream is improving, but slipstream is only offered to ISP I think. I wish I knew the best ISP for dial up.
