This powerful application covers your tracks by washing away traces of your Web-surfing activities, but its short trial may make this program difficult to judge. Privacy Protector's fairly straightforward interface features clearly labeled icons neatly arranged in the sidebar. From the program settings, you can choose to wipe away Web-surfing history from Internet Explorer or popular alternative browsers Firefox, Opera, Netscape, AOL Explorer, and MSN Explorer. You can quickly clean certain areas of your Windows system and zap leftovers of some other applications. This application's Registry Cleaner does well finding faulty registry keys and quickly deleting them. You can securely delete your sensitive data with its file shredding utility, though we wish it offered additional deletion algorithms. A configurable emergency hot key hides all IE windows in a snap. The 10-day trial isn't long enough to fully test its capabilities, but you may learn to like it enough to add it to your privacy cleaning arsenal.
