  Has anyone been able to contact Practiline? They have no phone number and my emails have been ignored without any reply.. dont expect any kind of support!

• Stay away! Does not count accurately in Word 2010

  Sadly, after using this product for a couple of months I discovered that in Word 2010 it does not count lines accurately, counting one line short for every document. I have spent over a week trying to get a fix from the tech support, who don't seem to have much concern that they've cost me, at the least, hundreds of dollars in miscounts, and don't seem capable of fixing the problem. I will now be attempting to get a refund.

  I would not suggest using this product unless you want to undercharge your clients.

• Reliable, truly useful software, but no support

  Pros

  Works exactly as advertised. Reinstalled it many times when changing computers or operating systems and it only failed to work in one set-up. Lifetime licence (as far as I can tell).

  While there is a support e-mail address, don't expect any answers from them.

  Summary

  Working as a translator, this software has saved me oodles of time in the past four years. It only refused to work in one set-up - having installed it after performing an upgrade from Office 2003 to Office 2007 (rather than doing a clean install), which resulted in Practicount not counting anything. Writing to the support address didn't result in any reply. However, considering the price of the software and the fact that it's a niche product it's clear that there isn't much room for a dedicated support infrastructure. In short, if you need to count text properties for your work, this tool will save you lots of time. I would definitely buy it again.

  Pros

  Used to be a top seller and was good for counting and billing.

  Cons

  No longer any tech. support. After trying to download updates and then no longer works properly, cannot get any answers from tech. support. No matter how hard you try or how many times you try to contact them - nothing! Don't waste your money.
