Identify callers and zap telemarketers before answering the call.
PhoneTray is the ultimate Call Blocking and Caller ID software. It shows and speaks the caller's name and number before you answer the phone. PhoneTray logs all your incoming calls and can reject any unwanted call by answering and playing selected message. PhoneTray can automatically zap telemarketers with a special disconnected tone. It can play Federal do-not-call warning forcing telemarketers to remove you from their calling lists.
Announces incoming call with voice and ring sound that are modifiable. You can customize the outgoing response message with several different choices and even allows recording of your own personal message. Blocking is very flexible. There are white/black lists to insure that the right people get through and the wrong ones don't. (It's funny that a Scam called just got blocked while I was typing this review.)
Cons
My main complaint is that I can't get this program for my iPhone. Apple's tight control won't allow PhoneTray to block calls in IOS. (Sure hope Apple changes that one of these days.) Also, when upgrading PC's to Win 10, Microsoft's installation procedure changed some file extensions in PhoneTray's folder and made it inoperative until PhoneTray's friendly support staff sent me a prompt email explaining how to fix that. I could have probably figured it out given some time but the help made it darn easy.
Summary
If you are looking for a program for your caller-ID-modem-equipped-PC, look no further. This is it. Simple enough for the novice, but with powerful features to block those hated calls from people that don't care that you have registered with the "Do Not Call List.
Does not work properly Windows 10
blammms
Pros
Works great in all other versions of Windows
Cons
Does not show up on screen in Windows 10 if you have screen saver on??
Summary
I specifically asked if it was compatible with Windows 10 and they said yes. Downloaded Windows 10 and now I don't have names appear on screen because of screen saver. They told me I have to listen to the name through the speakers or turn off screen saver?? That's not what I paid for.
DOES THE JOB
HitesMites
Pros
User-friendly interface.
Cons
None that I can think of, except you have to outlay $30. Watch out for the unticked box that ropes you into an annual $9 renewal fee.
Summary
PhoneTray performs as expected, with a user-friendly interface. Unsolicited telemarketing calls have been greatly reduced if not eliminated.
Phone tray is the greatest program ever
hayboat
Pros
screens calls and plays a recording for telemarketers and privacy people who block their CID or have a blank CID
Cons
The only problem with this program is the need of a modem and computers no longer come with a modem.
Summary
I have my number on the "Do Not Call" list, but politicians, charities, and ruthless people are exempt and keep calling. This program identifies numbers from its own database and stops the call with one ring and plays a message (of your choosing.) Great program and its free.
Our ver 1.4 is the most used program on our computer!

Pros
I've had Phonetray for 7 or 8 years. I'm so used to it screening calls for me I'd be lost without it. We have it set to announce the name of the caller. When the phone rings we look over at the computer screen to see the name and phone number of the caller. There is also an audio alert that speaks who's calling.
It automatically logs all calls. If you know a certain number belongs to a telemarketer or someone you never want to speak to, the program can be set to play a certain recording that will put off the caller. My favorite is "the phone number you dialed is disconnected."
Cons
If you learn what the program does and how the adjust the settings it doesn't really have a downside for me.
Summary
- Keeps logs of all incoming calls.
- Audio and Visual alerts you to callers name and # on your computer screen.
- Allows you to ignore unwanted callers.
- Offers to block all calls during "quiet times."
- Allows exceptions to certain callers to call even in quiet times.
It's a valuable tool in our house.
The Perfect Phone App! - No more unwanted calls.

Summary
Have been using this app for several years. Worked perfectly for me, although I've been cursed with being able to read and follow instructions. Purchased a compatible voice modem and never looked back. Have log of all calls over past several years. Turned off ringer on land line so never have to deal with unwanted calls. Set up to block all out of area calls. Link to on-line look-up allows me to enable a number if I want the call to come through.
DOes just what I want it to do.
