At this point, PennCryptSuite still feels like a beta version, and it offers a mixed bag in terms of functionality. The first red flag comes when the developer warns that you will lose data if you perform key generation by tracking mouse position (to say nothing of the decidedly more explicit warning on the company's own Web site: "Use this application at your own risk!"). PennCryptSuite uses PennCryptAlg and Blowfish algorithms to encrypt, and when you choose a password, the program prompts you to add special characters if it determines that what you've chosen is not suitably opaque. PennCryptSuite doesn't protect multiple files at once, and the Context menu command didn't work for us, presumably because the program installed incorrectly on our PC. The endless nag screens in the evaluation version are likely to prompt users less patient than we are to pull the rip cord and uninstall after the first use. We wouldn't recommend using this program for highly sensitive data, given the abundance of more professional alternatives.

Pros
I like the speed and the ease of use of the product. I believe the editor really tested a beta version! <p>I trust the tool more than a highly-commercialized version!
Cons
None, so far. It would be nice if the next version of this tool didn't spawn so many windows deleting or encrypting multiple files. Other than that! Nice and quick tool.

I was very surprised about this program. Other applications require a lot of time to encrypt a 300 MB file. This tool does it pretty quickly. Very happy for the tool. Thank you, download.com
