PC Speed Pro for Windows

This nifty little tool takes all the pain out of optimizing your system's Internet connection. PC Speed Pro's dialog-size interface sports a few commands so easy to use that you won't need the missing Help file.

Operating this app couldn't be easier. Simply use two pull-downs to select your operating system and Internet-connection type, and press Optimize. Your system will grind for a second as the program pops up a dialog stating that your system must be rebooted. Our testers reported the program failed to reboot their systems, but they were able to manually shut down the machines. After the reboot, test systems averaged a near 10 percent increase in download speed. However, the true test is on your own system. The utility doesn't report what changes were made, but if you don't like the results, they're easy to reverse with a menu click.

Those using the demo will find that after 15 days the program automatically removes the change improvements. Advanced users may bristle at the lack of explanations regarding system changes, but novice users looking for system download speed improvements should give this tool a shot.
