• PA-MO or Pay-Mo'?

  Pros

  It installs easily. Includes an Uninstall shortcut in the Start Menu. I may not have found a webcam security program, but I did get a lot of free advice from C-NET.

  Cons

  Reported a socket error, but Cancelling the report ran the program anyway. The Show Video button didn't do a thing. So I tried the four or five settings to establish a picture: No result.

  Summary

  Like so many programs it begins flapping its wings but refuses to become airborne. Never flew.

  It installs? It supports a long list of resolutions/formats...

  Cons

  This doesn't detect motion - just used a timer. It doesn't hide your FTP password. Fortunately it doesn't remember the information, either. Directory must be named "spycam;" has to be in "/" above public_html meaning you can't browse it remotely.

  Summary

  I don't understand why good security software is so hard to find. They are either unstable and risky as all heck, come with features disabled yet are listed as "free," or this junk that is so "easy" it hardly does anything at all. I'm still looking.
