Interact with other users online in 2D environment.
PalaceChat is chat software that allows you to interact with other users within a 2d environment online. You can wear, make and share Avatars made from images or maybe your own imagination! You can also design your own virtual world (if you're up for the challenge), with animations, video, games, prop rooms, using whatever imagery suites your taste. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.
It is a chat client program consisting of maybe 60 actual people and not bots. Most of which are either pedophiles or freaks. Not much else to this program.

I love the way it runs under Panther. I just upgraded from Jaguar and the difference is noticeable.
And now for my broken record to play. Pawn i know I keep saying this but I'm gonna say it again.
Now all we need is iptscrae support so we can use prop rooms, room scripts etc. YES I know this is a huge undertaking and I know it will take time. I'm just eager for it.
Great work! and thanks again!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />PalaceChat is an excellent client for the palace visual chat servers. It really is only missing iptscrae, but i wouldn't blame the author, or even expect him to do such support. I myself am a programmer and would not want to touch iptscrae parsing, i barely even like iptscrae itself... backwards....
Mansion may have support for many things, but it's limited to itself. Most people are switching from palace, so until then PalaceChat is a great OS X palace solution.
and applewiz or whatever, it's very rude to give something a bad review and rant about something barely related. it had nothing to do with palacechat directly or how welll Pawn has done with programming in REALBasic
best REALBasic app i've seen, excellent work.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />The only bugs I have noticed are:
(A) Pasting (Cmd-V), duplicates the "Paste Multiple Props" option instead of just pasting the clipboard contents to one prop square.
(B) Sound support is missing
(C) Portals & auto-avatar buttons do not work.
(D) When speech is enabled, voices talk over each other instead of queueing them.
However, when you weigh these shortcomings against what has been accomplished in this app after such a small amount of time, these limitations are negligible & will be corrected sometime in the future I'm sure. All in all, a fantastic job so far. Ratbot would be proud.
A surprise

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />This came out of nowhere, with no hype like the Manor or Phalanx has had. With that said, it's a good effort. The props actually work --unlike Phalanx, which is still trying-- and it's actually pretty stable. My qualms with it are in the interface itself. The character spacing seems too unrefined, and the actual text bubbles take quite a bit of tweaking to get readable. I don't think bevel helps it, and I actually think the Mac OS font smoothing makes it difficult to read if bevel is taken off. I also think that there's a few elements of PalaceChat that remind me a bit much of Phalanx, but done better. So all in all, the classic Palace (in both senses) is a bit more solid in interface, but as a first step to a truly alternative Palace client, PalaceChat is the best so far.
Did a double take...
