Used NVS Password Protection for Windows?
Editors’ Review
This easy to use program offers a free way to manage online accounts log-in information. However, don't expect some of the touches found in more robust password managers. NVS Password Protection installs quickly and easily. At first run, you must set up your main password for accessing the program. Once you complete this, you'll be presented with a compact interface with a viewing pane to see your accounts and a simple toolbar that holds all program commands. Set up requires users enter a title, user name, password, and, optionally, the e-mail and Web site for each account.
While some programs integrate with your browser to grab log-in information as it is entered, it's a purely manual approach with NVS Password Protection. There's also no auto-fill option for quickly filling in log-in information, although you can select an account and open the associated Web site with a single-click. Right-click on the account listing and you'll find options to copy any of the log-in information to the clipboard. We're not big fans of this approach, though, because it leaves behind traces of your personal information. Still, the program worked exactly as promised.
NVS Password Protection has its own uninstall option, but some testers reported that it left behind a folder that had to be manually removed. If you just want one secure place to maintain log-in information for all of your accounts, this very easy-to-use freeware could fit your needs.
