• awesome software and outstanding support

  Pros

  This software does an incredible job if you have complex stocks and option trades. I do lots of option trades, with exercises and assignments happening. The software handles it all pretty straightforwardly. The developers support the software, and have the patience of Job, as I pestered them with questions and issues (There were a few issues that needed to be fixed, but they fixed them within a day or two every time).

  Cons

  It has a bit of a learning curve, but once learned it's definitely worth the price of admission.

  Summary

  If you do a lot of stock and option trades, you need this software to deal with the government requirements for Form 8949 and Schedule D....

  Pros

  From an accountant user aspect, I would say TradeMax's import wizard is very intelligent. It supports auto-download via QFX interface. The reports are well designed. Forex function saved me lots time doing currency conversion.

  Cons

  User needs to spend time to read on-line tutorial.

  Summary

  I compared the result between TradeMax and the reports from brokerage. TradeMax was right whenever there was a difference. I recommend every accountant use TradeMax to validate brokerage's report.
