NAPS2 scans documents and converts them to PDF. It's aimed at users who want a fast, free way to archive paper without jumping through hoops. It works with most scanners, too.

NAPS2 0/1

  • Pros

    • It supports scanners from all the major brands. | Setup is quick; you'll be scanning in minutes. | OCR is included and supports multiple languages. | Rearranging and rotating pages is simple. | File size impact from extra languages is minimal.

  • Cons

    • The interface is... utilitarian, to be kind. | You're stuck with WIA or TWAIN drivers. | Don't expect advanced image editing features. | Documentation is sparse.
