Simple to use. Most of the critical tests the average user would want are in the Lite version.

None I can think of. Wish the regular version was free? Ha. Just kidding.
Summary
All I needed to do was confirm some speeds with my DSL connection, and it did it quick and easy. It was a no brainer when I found it on download.cnet.com. Thanks.

This is simple to use and it provides definitions of the results so that even a novice can understand it.

There are insufficient servers for the user to link to, so this makes for a wide variation in results.
Summary
Having used this application, and its predecessor, I think that it is better than the majority of the "online" broadband speed checkers. MyConnection PC Lite has proven time and again that the true speed is not the throughput speed but the Application speed. Using this application I have proved to my ISP that they were not providing the speed that they said they were, and then, miraculously, my speed increased overnight. I would recommend everyone should have this free program on their PC so that they have an independent method of checking up on their ISP. Finally, if you look at various site that check your broadband speed, they nearly all use the same application. MyConnection PC lite is a different application altogether and actually matched the speed that my ISP's engineer identified when he checked my system.

First you select a server near you and click start, then it scans your computer. <p>After it scanned my computer it showed these results. My download speed is 2.88Mbps, my upload speed is 661Kbps, and the quality of my service is 99%. It can show results on graphic charts, and analog meters if you click switch view.
Cons
The visual route trace is missing, but can be downloaded as a free trial.
