• The best of the MANY outliners I have used over 35 year

  Pros

  1. The outlining styles are easily modified to fit my needs. 2. The ability to include attachments and easily link to them has always been a great feature. 3. The creation of "e-books" makes MNK invaluable for sharing documentation of projects. 4. The developer does his best to answer questions I have had over the last 10+ years. 5. I was able to import outlines I'd made in several other previous outliners. 6. I've offered to pay something for upgrades over the years...and the developer has essentially said "no thanks." 7. I've created MASSIVE outlines that have "tracked" major epidemiological studies i've worked on for 30+ years (the studies and their publications) and MNK handles 25meg of documentation, references, graphs etc with ease.

  Cons

  1. I find handling the styles a little clumsy, esp. when i'm trying for modify a "look." 2. Rarely, but it has happened, hyperlinks have gotten "lost" and the pointers don't "look" at the right link any longer.

  Summary

  This is a wonderful little piece of software that can handle vast amounts of information!

  Pros

  -Formatting options are excellent -Great organization of notes -Tons and tons and tons of options for everything you could want -Appearance customization -Exporting notebooks into several formats, including exe, chm & pdf. You can also export to an ebook for the web -Compatible & lightweight -Does almost everything you want something like this to do -Search and replace function -Import just about any kind of file, image, or other media! (this is super important to me)

  Cons

  -Needs a little more color options for things, especially tabs. I'm really damned sick of software only giving people pastels to choose from. -Really needs a special extension (preferably a Firefox addon) for capturing content easily (but doing it better than OneNote) -Really disappointing that there's no webapp/web version so you can access stuff everywhere. There's nothing out there right now that comes close to the usefulness of MyNotesKeeper, and that sucks. -May not satisfy people who want to store things like addresses & phone numbers quickly, but since I don't need it, I could be wrong about that. Also might not be great for repetitive data entry (but I don't think that's what it's for)

  Summary

  I really can't say enough good things about this. Usually I never buy software. I tried a portable "special" version of this & after enough time spent using it & getting to like it enough & learning it's usefulness to me, I'm buying it. That's a big deal to me, especially at a price of $30. Still, I think it's invaluable. For storing personal information, it really fits the bill in my opinion. I love the way the notebooks are set up, with tabs & then sections under the tabs. It allows for a good hierarchy & organization of your info. Overall, I'm a fan & I would recommend it. So far I haven't run into any bugs, either, which is a big deal, considering all the companies who think it's acceptable to charge for software absolutely riddled with bugs, errors & problems....

  Pros

  Feature rich note organizer. Notes are stored in a Tree structure pane on the left and Content pane on the right. You can easily enter and format notes with the comprehensive text editor. Easily apply Tags and Bookmarks for quick search retrieval. Can add document, file and picture attachments and establish hyperlinks for instant access. Search text by title, content, attachment, date modified or date created. Searches can be applied to multiple databases with virtually an unlimited number of notes.

  Cons

  Hoisting feature not implemented at this time. Network version not available.

  Summary

  Mynoteskeeper is an outstanding note taking and organizing program that allows you to capture, store, organize and retrieve all kinds of information. This program is "Best in Class" for a program of this type. The program has been very stable for all versions released. Try it, you will like it.

• Exactly what I needed.

  Pros

  Nice interface and quick response to support questions. Was able to import my old Treepad files which was a BIG help.

  Cons

  I use this to track projects so would like to have check boxes on nodes to indicate when the project is completed. It would also be nice to have the ability to track time worked on each node, although this is far out of the intended purpose.

  Summary

  Excellent product with up-to-date look and current support. Maybe the author has an Android version in the works?

• My Notes Keeper is a great PIM software

  I use My Notes Keeper daily. I use it for all of my personal organisation of notes. From passwords to knowledge management. I use it also as an attachment archive. I have tried many other PIM software and My Notes Keeper is the most efficient and the fastest PIM software that I have used. You can also use it on a usb stick, without any installation required. Your database will be saved on one single database. You can make multiple databases and open them all together and there will be no lost of performance, My Notes Keeper is always fast. I have never had any corruptions on any of my databases. My database are around 500MB big and still very fast. You can design as many templates as you wanted and re-use your templates with one click. You can create ebooks with My Notes Keeper. You can design a help file with My Notes Keeper and export it as an ebook or as a website. The search tool is also very fast. There are to many things you can do with My Notes Keeper. Try it your self :)

• Couldn't install. No customer service

  Pros

  Why do I have to enter 10 characters. There's only four characters in "none".

  Cons

  Could not install because installation files were corrupted. I tried both their download sites. That's ok, but I'm giving them 1 star for the lack of customer service. I emailed them at both available addresses but my emails were rejected because they have spam filters set up. I guess they don't want new customers.

• It Really is a Notes Keeper; Not a "Mylifeorganizer"

  Pros

  Short learning curve, easy to use, handy, cheap, good users forum... and never fails. I haven't used it just twice, but for more than a year, so I do know it possitively.

  Cons

  The only thing that I don't like (about many applications; not only My Notes Keeper) is that it must be uninstalled and re-installed every time there's a new update.

  Summary

  Before buying My Notes Keeper I checked a lot of different similar apps, read their user and editor reviews in many reputed download and magazines sites and tested a couple of them (obviously the best ones). What I liked most of My Notes Keeper was it's simplicity (not too many features) What I like most of it now is that it never fails. I recommend this software to everybody.

  Pros

  Allows you to store information with unlimited tree structure. I have everything about my house, computers, vehicles, down to whatever level of detail I need. Creates order from chaos.

  Cons

  The only con is that some people in the world do not use MyNotesKeeper, and we are all poorer for that.

  Learn it. Live it. Love it.

  Some glitches with saving some tree nodes.

  This one is a keeper! I've been testing some PIMs lately and it looks like I'll be doing my note keeping though this great little app.
