  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I had version 2.8 working just great and then I got an email to upgrade to version 3.0 for free so I thought, "Why not?!?" Installation was easy, but the first thing I noticed was that it forgot all of the rings that I had previously set. Fortunately, I had not set all that many, only about a dozen. So, while I was trying to reconfigure my rings, I noticed that I could not access any of the system MIDI files. Come to find out, version 3.0 will not play MIDI files. WHAT?!? Since when does an upgrade delete features? The program said you could download for free the converted MIDI's that are now in MP3 format. Have you heard a MIDI converted to MP3? It does not convert equally and does not sound the same. I didn't even bother to see what features the new program might have because if it can't use system MIDI's, then it's of no use to me. So, after being frustrated that I spent the time on the upgrade, I immediately deleted the application from the palm, went through my 'Archived' files on my computer and found the original 2.8 files and reinstalled them. It downgraded just fine and it even remembered my preferences (because I also installed the mRing database file). Also of note, MotionApps (the developers) do not offer any kind of Customer Service or Technical Support that I can find. No email, phone number, nothing. This was a bit aggrevating, but I figured it out myself. I am very happy with version 2.8 and love it's usefulness. I may try 2.9 at a later time. 3.0 is prettier to look at, but does not offer what 2.8 has. Hope this review helps.
