This no-frills program provides a free, unrestricted way to rip CDs but doesn't offer much in the way of features. When we opened the utility prior to inserting a disc in our PC's CD-ROM drive, we couldn't get the application to recognize it and were forced to relaunch in order to get started. Happily, ripping tracks was a more pleasant affair, as the program quickly converted our test CDs to MP3, WAV, and OGG files. Since MpegWare CD Ripper simply does its main job and nothing else, the interface is a snap to use, although it's not much to look at. You can rip files at bit rates of your choice up to 320kbps, but the program doesn't support the space-efficient VBR scheme. Although this program is rather limited, folks looking for a free ripper will mostly find this one a satisfactory performer.

It works ripped my CD's to the mp3 format.

Easy to use but mostly not fussy, you may expect this from a free programme.
Cons
For one of my CD's it rejected the loading of it and does not give any answer why it' not accepted.
Summary
After restart of the computer the CD won't accept your CD to compress, I have two drives on a computer and figured out after a while if I select the DVD ROM drive then the programme does it's business. Sound qualities OK?

So many things to cover. <p> <p>So lets start with the obvious one: needs you to restart the computer once it installs... no other ripper i have installed needs that done, obviously installs some for of software other then the prog on to your computer. <p> <p>2. I get Track index invalid errors on all of my cds. <p> <p>3. It randomly errrors out the rippping process on tracks that it once was able to rip prior. <p> <p>its not worth your time.

Easy to use, easy to learn. This is for the beginners and the hobbyists.

The way to rename songs are a little bit too slow if you are ripping many CD's in a session.

I ripped a song from a CD in MP3 format, and by the time it reached 100% complete, it only ripped 4:47 out of a 5:56 song. I tried it again and it ripped the entire song completely. So just review what it does, make sure its correct, and it will be a great utility :)

Most of the time its fine, but it won't recognise several of my CDs as containing any tracks (ones I have ripped previously with other programs so i know they work) and regularly stalls, causing me to have to restart my computer before using the ripper again. OK if you want to rip a couple of CDs only, but for bigger tasks I'd give it a miss.
