This tiny and free application presents a low-maintenance solution for giving yourself basic reminders, but it won't cope well with time-sensitive items. MiniReminder's petite reminder screen is simple and spartan, but you can slightly dress up its appearance by changing the background color. Operating the application won't be a problem for even the most inexperienced users, as you simply specify the event date and reminder message, then add any notes you find appropriate. This utility's biggest flaw is that it can only alert you a certain number of days before an event occurs and won't let you set reminders by the hour. We also found the lack of sound-based reminders a curious omission, although since MiniReminder is totally free, we can't expect everything. We think this program will do for reminding yourself about occurrences such as birthdays and anniversaries, but it's not a good pick for the office environment.

What’s new in version 1.41.09

Version 1.41.09 has added the possibility to edit an event directly from the main window, using Ctrl+DoubleClick when the pointer is over the event.

I like the simplicity of this software, it does what it says it will do, easily and efficiently. It would have been much better if the frequency of events could be improved on, currently only yearly can be set, which is shame.

Fills a need for a fast-to-use program. Unlike many "fancier" ones, it allows unlimited flexibility in what you enter. Lets USER make decisions, not the program. Hassle-free for busy life.Allows at least 100 day warning.

Pros
MiniReminder allows me to alter the number of days prior (and after) the birthday to display, so I can prepare for sending cards etc. A Tri-colour scheme for viewing past/present/upcoming days makes it easy to see which events are when, with several colour schemes/fonts to choose from. It's a most useful utility.

I like that this is very simple to use and can be a life saver. No flaws at all, always comes up when I boot up the computer for reminding. It is great, I recommend this to anyone who wants a small download, and something that can easily remind of things.

Nothing hardly at all, although it is simple, it might be a bit unadvanced.

DateTrac (FREEWARE) is FAR superior. Before you install this one, give DateTrac a try at: soucek.clearwire.net/filetrac.html
