  It's quick. It's gets results. It's free. The mp3 is pretty faithful to the MIDI.

  Cons

  There is no real control over the output, so you have to get it right in the midi file to get the right result in the mp3. But hey! It's free.

  I don't usually get involved with writing reviews, however I think that the software developer in me feels that someone should set the record straight on this Midi converter. This program works just fine on my system. All you need to do (as mentioned in a previous comment) is ensure that your computer's volume under "Audio Devices" is switched on (it seems that this is often muted by default). You can do this by right-clicking as follows: <p> <p>START-> All Programs-> Accessories-> Entertainment-> Sound Recorder-> Edit-> Audio Properties-> Volume. Then just click off the mute and/or turn up the volume (I figure). <p> <p>MidiMeow gives great results for me. I use it to convert Midi (.mid) files to mp3's for playback on my GNX4 guitar workstation. <p> <p>(PS. No, I don't know them or work for them!)

  Well, hey ... it's free software so I like it just fine. It would be nice if they explained how to set it up a little better I suppose, and it would also be nice if it had some sort of animation to show that it is in fact working when you press the "Convert" button. I wonder what the "Start" button next to the "Convert" button is for?? Anyway, overall nice job, I'd rate it a 3 but I'll give it a 5 for two main reasons; 1. I want to offset its way too low one star rating. 2. IT WORKS AND IT'S FREE!! <p> <p>(Writing reviews takes too long, no wonder most people don't bother! Masonic_1@hotmail.com)

  The converted sound files produce no sound. <p>The program freezes up sometimes. <p>The program will not close if you click "stop" during conversion.
