File encryption and decryption is simple enough with this file security tool, but recipients will need a special program to decrypt shared files. Microcrypt Pro - File Encryption's traditional, gray interface is easy to grasp. It allows for convenient browsing and quick dragging and dropping of files from its clear-cut file tree. Impressively, the program can encrypt an individual file or the contents of an entire folder in a single pass. We're pleased to find that this application also has a secured file shredder and password generator. Encrypting a 5MB file took a long five minutes to complete in testing, and the encryption algorithm used wasn't specified. The demo version of Microcrypt Pro File Encryption won't allow you to enter your own encryption key either, making it a bit shaky when securing ultrasensitive files. It works well enough, but there are plenty of other encryption utilities that allow you to share files more easily.
