Store and retrieve data from memory with accuracy.
MemTest is a RAM reliability tester that runs under Windows. It evaluates the ability of your computer's memory to store and retrieve data accurately. A correctly functioning computer should be able to do both these tasks with 100% accuracy day in and day out. A computer that fails these tests, perhaps because of old hardware, damaged hardware, or poorly configured hardware, will be less stable and crash more often. Even worse, it will become even less stable over time as corrupted data is written to your hard disk. By running MemTest you can ensure that your computer's RAM is correctly functioning.
This application caused spyware warnings on two machines.

Pros
Works well, simple and does the job. Lets me know if there is a problem
Cons
Sometimes it says that the ram is okay, but later find out that the ram is the problem.
Summary
When I get a computer to fix, I always run this test, and let me know if it has problems with the ram. I would recommend this to any of my friends.

Summary
Gives a quick easy Yes/No on RAM
oldmicro
Pros
Fast, Easy, Simple - FREE. No Advanced knowledge of computer internals needed. Gives a Bad Ram response without having to unload anything if there is bad RAM in your system.
Cons
Only tests unused RAM, give little indication of how much good ram it has tested, must run for x minutes and then I guess all the RAM is good.
Summary
It being so simple to use, the lack of positive information is tolerable. If it reports RAM trouble it is probably a good idea to change all RAM anyway.
Simple Freeware does the job well

Cons
Didn't notice any.
Summary
I only wish I had come across this app sooner. I was experiencing all sorts of problems and blue screen crashes in XP. I even went as far to get Win 7 and load it as a separate OS in case XP had gone south. Still experienced crashes and now RAM and hardware were still possibilities. Found MemTest and in one min. knew that my RAM was the culprit--68 RAM errors reported in 40 seconds. Installed new RAM and it was error-free as evaluated by MemTest. System is finally well again. Definitely an important and useful tool to have in one's kit.
